Firm Announces Formation of Redevelopment Practice Group
Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP announces the formation of the Redevelopment Practice Group. The Group was formed to provide specialized services to developers, landowners, and municipal governments in response to New Jersey’s Smart Growth and redevelopment initiatives.
Partner Robert S. Goldsmith is chair of the new practice group. Other attorneys in the practice group include partners Dean A. Gaver, Dennis A. Estis, Alan S. Naar, Kenneth T. Bills and Marc D. Policastro; counsel Steven Firkser; and associates Michele Gibson, Arren S. Goldman, Robert Beckelman and Dean E. Loventhal. Partners Wendell A. Smith and Alan E. Davis are consultants to the group. Members of the practice group have more than 30 years of experience to address complex real estate transactions, land use issues, construction and environmental issues, and litigation matters.
The firm’s attorneys have a unique perspective and insight to understand both sides of the redevelopment partnership. Clients include private redevelopers in Trenton, Wildwood, Rahway, South Bound Brook, Newark, South Amboy, Jersey City, Carneys Point, Clayton and Hoboken, among other municipalities. The firm has served as special counsel to Long Branch (obtaining an area wide CAFRA permit for the redevelopment area), Atlantic City, Belmar, Princeton, Harrison, Woodbridge, Morristown, Millville and other municipalities. Our attorneys guide private sector clients in obtaining functional and effective redevelopment agreements and implementing successful redevelopment projects throughout the State.
Bob Goldsmith is recognized as a leader in implementing complex redevelopment projects and is frequently called upon for his broad experience in matters involving both the private and public sectors. Mr. Goldsmith concentrates his practice in redevelopment and has been involved in numerous downtown redevelopment projects. He has broad experience in complex commercial litigation, construction litigation and appellate work. He serves as special redevelopment counsel to numerous municipalities and developers in regard to complex, mixed-use redevelopment projects. Mr. Goldsmith is president of Downtown New Jersey and a member of its Executive Committee. He also serves on the New Jersey Committee of the Regional Plan Association and the Main Street New Jersey Board of Advisors. He frequently lectures on downtown redevelopment and revitalization issues.
